Recommended setup
For most birdhouses, we recommend:
- motion detection on
- moderate notifications
- occasional live viewing rather than constant monitoring
Simple settings usually give the best experience.
Too many notifications?
- lower the motion sensitivity slightly
- use scheduled notifications
- avoid moving branches near the entrance hole
Night vision tips
Night vision works best when:
- the lens is clean
- the camera isn’t too close to walls
- reflective surfaces are kept to a minimum
Reducing disturbance
Birds usually adapt very well to discreet nest box cameras. For best results:
- install the birdhouse before nesting season
- avoid opening the box unnecessarily
Will sound disturb the birds?
Simply watching live view won’t play sound through the camera. Sound is only transmitted if the talk/intercom function is turned on in the app.
Where to place a birdhouse
- avoid strong midday sun
- avoid strong winds where possible
- choose a quieter spot if you can
